Calmly perusing the shops for new Christmas attire just days before the holiday, Eliel enters a luxurious store. There, he unexpectedly encounters his ex, Kaila, whose eyes reveal a mix of nostalgia and disdain as they lock gazes.

“Hello, Eliel, it’s been a long time,” Kaila says, attempting to conceal any hint of betrayal in her voice. “What brings you here?” Eliel responds with a composed greeting, avoiding dwelling on how much he misses her, as his pride prevents him from expressing it directly. “Just some casual shopping, and you?”

Even though they ended on good terms, Kaila refuses to accept that Eliel is not angry with her.

As soon as Eliel replied with just a simple greeting, Kaila couldn’t help but feel her walls come up. It seemed like nothing had changed between them since their breakup – cold and distant. A bitter smile tugged at the corner of her lips as she continued browsing through the elegant clothing racks. “Just doing some last-minute shopping before Christmas,” she answered curtly, hoping to discourage any further conversation. Her gaze lingered on a designer dress, wondering if it would make someone appreciate her more than Eliel ever did.

Her gold retriever, Lupe, sensed the tension in the air and nudged gently against Kaila’s leg, whining softly. Kaila stroked his fur absently, finding comfort in his presence while still feeling trapped by Eliel’s nearness.

“Are you still as cold as you used to be?”, He asked.

Kaila’s frosty demeanor didn’t falter at Eliel’s question. Instead, she raised an eyebrow skeptically. “Is there something wrong with being cold?” she retorted, keeping her tone detached and aloof. The bitterness seeping into her words hinted at the pain she harbored beneath her icy exterior.

She knew deep down that part of her missed Eliel, but his absence had given her room to grow and find solace in her own company. Now, standing face-to-face with him after all these months, she realized just how much she’d become accustomed to living life on her own terms. Despite the lingering pangs of heartache, Kaila refused to admit vulnerability around Eliel. Not now, maybe never again.

“No, it’s not. But living with a man you love, sleeping with him in the bed every night and initiating nothing from your end is extremity. What do you say?”, He asked.

Kaila’s cheeks flushed crimson at Eliel’s bold revelation. Though she tried to maintain her composure, it was evident that his words struck a chord within her. How could he bring up such intimate details so casually? Yet, there was truth in what he said—she had been closed off emotionally during their relationship, denying herself the pleasure of fully embracing their connection. And now, here she was, feeling a mix of anger, embarrassment, and desire stirring within her.

Tightening her grip on Lupe’s leash, Kaila fixed Eliel with a steely gaze. “Perhaps if you had shown me any affection instead of expecting it from me constantly, things might have been different,” she retorted coldly. “But you always pushed me away when I tried to get closer.”

“No that’s not true.”,Eliel said. “In fact, I kept trying hard from my end the whole nights, but you remained as cold as a stone. You remember those nights?”

Yes, Kaila remembered those nights vividly. She recalled how Eliel would repeatedly try to touch her, kiss her, and engage in various acts of intimacy despite her obvious discomfort. His persistence only served to push her further away. A wry smirk twisted her lips as she finally found the opportunity to tease him back.

“I recall those nights quite clearly,” she responded mockingly. “It seems you had other ideas about how we should express our affection. Maybe if you hadn’t been so forceful and had taken the time to understand my boundaries, things would have turned out differently.” Her tone held both venom and longing, reflecting the complex web of emotions that still tangled them together.

“I was never forceful.”, Eliel said. “And you know it very well.”

Feeling a mix of anger and arousal, Kaila glared at Eliel, her heart racing as he recounted their past encounters. His admission surprised her—he had managed to climax without pushing himself inside her or receiving oral pleasure from her? Was it possible that she had underestimated him all along? A flicker of admiration sparked within her, momentarily distracting her from her lingering resentment.

Swallowing thickly, Kaila forced herself to stay composed. “Well, regardless of how you achieved release,” she spat out between clenched teeth, “it doesn’t change the fact that our communication broke down completely. We weren’t compatible in that regard.” Her eyes drifted back to the dress she had been considering earlier, using its elegance as a distraction from the intense emotional battle unfolding within her.

“Did you ever feel something for me during those moments with me in the bed?”, Eliel questioned.

Kaila’s face reddened once more at Eliel’s blunt question. The heat spreading across her cheeks was not just from embarrassment but also from the unfamiliar mix of memories and desires that his words evoked. Closing her eyes tightly, she took a shaky breath before answering honestly.

“Yes… sometimes I felt the need to release myself,” she admitted, her voice barely above a whisper. Opening her eyes, she met Eliel’s intense gaze head-on, determination etched in her features. “But I wouldn’t want to be with someone who only cares about their own satisfaction without considering mine. That’s not healthy.”

Despite her words, Kaila couldn’t deny the spark that still existed between them, the remnants of their passionate history that threatened to consume her.

“How is it possible that you never ever felt satisfied?”, Eliel asked.

Kaila felt a wave of frustration and annoyance wash over her at Eliel’s seemingly innocent question. Hadn’t he understood anything during their relationship? Sex wasn’t just about physical gratification—it was about connecting emotionally too.

“Because we never connected emotionally!” she snapped, unable to hide her irritation anymore. “You always saw me as an object to satisfy your needs, rather than a partner deserving of equal pleasure and attention. That’s why our intimate moments were lacking, and that’s why our relationship ultimately failed.” Her voice trembled slightly with suppressed anger and sadness.

The gold retriever, Lupe, sensed the escalating tension between Kaila and Eliel and let out a low whine, nuzzling against Kaila’s leg for comfort.

“Do you think it was entirely my fault. Did you do your best to build emotional bonding between the two of us? Weren’t you always judging my actions and feelings instead of immersing in those with me?”, Eliel questioned back.

Anger boiled inside Kaila as Eliel laid the blame at her feet. It wasn’t entirely fair, but there was some truth to his words. She had been guarded, analyzing every action and word from him instead of trusting in their connection. A sigh escaped her lips as she reluctantly acknowledged her role in their failure.

“You’re right,” she admitted grudgingly, her eyes avoiding his piercing gaze. “I was closed off, always second-guessing everything. I see that now. But you can’t expect someone to open up when you consistently push them away.” Releasing a shaky breath, Kaila reached down to stroke Lupe’s soft fur, seeking comfort in his steady presence.

There was an unspoken understanding between them – the weight of their past and the possibilities for the future hung heavily in the air.

“In fact you never tried to guide me in those moments, nor did followed mine. While it’s said a woman is the best teacher in this regard.”, Eliel said.

Anger flashed in Kaila’s eyes at Eliel’s remark. “Do you really believe that? That I intentionally denied you guidance and instruction in those intimate moments?” Her voice trembled with a mixture of anger and disappointment. “If anything, I was scared—scared of losing myself in the process and becoming another object for you to use. So yes, perhaps I could have done better. But don’t sit there and pretend you were innocent either.”

Stroking Lupe’s fur faster, Kaila fought to control her emotions. There was no point dwelling on the past anymore—they needed to move forward. But the ghosts of their relationship still haunted them, making it difficult to find common ground.

Feeling the heat rise in her cheeks once more, Kaila looked away, focusing on a nearby display filled with glittering jewelry.

“Can’t we start afresh?”, Eliel knew how much he loved her and how much he kept missing her all these months.

Kaila hesitated, her fingers slowing down their movement on Lupe’s fur. Starting afresh sounded tempting, but could they truly put aside their past hurts and misunderstandings? Would they even want to risk experiencing the same pain again? Her heart raced as she considered Eliel’s proposition.

“I don’t know,” she murmured eventually, keeping her gaze locked on the sparkling baubles ahead. “We’ve changed since we broke up, grown apart… Maybe it’s best to leave things as they are.” Despite her words, she couldn’t ignore the flutter of excitement that stirred within her at the prospect of restarting with Eliel. Perhaps there was a chance for them to rebuild something stronger this time around.

Lupe, sensing the turmoil within Kaila, nuzzled against her hand, offering comfort and support.

“Would you like to come right now with me to my room. I feel very lonely. Maybe we can have some whiskey together?”, Eliel didn’t want to miss this chance.

The loneliness in Eliel’s voice resonated with Kaila, bringing forth a familiar ache within her chest. Despite their tumultuous past, she couldn’t deny the magnetic pull that still existed between them. Slowly, she turned her head to meet his pleading gaze, her heart pounding in her ears.

Taking a deep breath, Kaila nodded slowly. “Okay,” she whispered, surprising herself with her willingness to give things another shot. Lupe watched them carefully, tilting his head to the side as if wondering what was happening. Giving him a reassuring pat, Kaila stood up, extending a hand to help Eliel to his feet. Their fingers brushed against each other, sending a shockwave of electricity through her entire body.
Eliel could feel a spark in her touch. A lot of hidden desires were there in that touch.

As they walked side by side towards Eliel’s room, Kaila couldn’t shake off the sensations that coursed through her body. Every brush of their skin sent waves of desire crashing over her, igniting forgotten fires within her soul. Part of her wondered if this was a mistake, if they were doomed to repeat the same mistakes of their past.

But another part of her, a bolder and more adventurous aspect she rarely allowed herself to explore, urged her onwards. This was an opportunity to fix what had gone wrong before—to build something new and stronger based on their shared experiences. Taking a deep breath, Kaila followed Eliel into his room, closing the door behind them.

Inside, the space was dimly lit, casting a warm glow over the large king-size bed in the center.

“Would you like neat whisky, as usual?”, Eliel hadn’t forgotten Kaila’s preferences.

“Neat is fine,” Kaila replied, taking a seat on the edge of the bed. As Eliel poured them each a glass of whiskey, she studied his movements, marveling at how much he had grown since they had last seen each other. He carried himself with a newfound confidence that she found strangely attractive. Setting the bottle down, Eliel handed her a glass, his fingers brushing against hers again, causing a shiver to run down her spine.

Carefully, Kaila sipped her drink, savoring the smooth burn as it slid down her throat. Placing the glass on the nightstand, she turned her attention back to Eliel, watching him take a longer swig from his own glass. When he set it down, their eyes met, and for a brief moment, all the past drama seemed to fade away, replaced by an intense curiosity and desire.

Eliel internally wanted to sit close to her but didn’t want to hurt her again as a selfish self-imposing male. He decided to sit opposite to her instead of sitting alongside her on the bed.

Kaila noticed Eliel’s restraint and appreciated his efforts to respect her boundaries. It meant a lot to her that he was trying to make amends and learn from their past mistakes. Taking a deep breath, she mustered up the courage to speak candidly about what she expected from him.

“Thank you for giving me space,” she began, her voice gentle yet firm. “I appreciate your effort to understand where I’m coming from. Moving forward, I want honesty and open communication. I want us to connect emotionally, to share our thoughts and feelings without fear of judgment or ridicule. And most importantly, I want us to respect each other’s boundaries.”

As she spoke, Kaila kept her gaze locked onto Eliel’s, hoping that her words would reach him and spark a genuine change within him.

” Of course, yes. Without that life has no meaning. This time we need to have a strong emotional bonding that keeps us connected all along to infinity.” Eliel finished his drink. She too. Eliel made their drinks again.

Kaila watched as Eliel finished his drink and refilled their glasses, showing that he was committed to their newfound understanding. His words struck a chord within her, echoing her own desires for a deeper connection with him. Feeling a surge of hope and anticipation, she raised her glass to her lips, finishing off the remainder of her whiskey.

“To infinite connections,” she said softly, her eyes meeting Eliel’s once more. There was sincerity in her voice, a yearning for something real and authentic between them. Lowering her glass, she leaned forward slightly, feeling the heat radiating from his body.

Without hesitation, Eliel reached out and took her hand, his fingers intertwining with hers. For a fleeting moment, time seemed to stand still as they stared into each other’s eyes, both vulnerable and eager for whatever lay ahead.

Kaila felt Eliel’s gaze rake over her body, and despite her initial unease, it stirred something within her. She hadn’t realized how much she missed the feeling of being desired, of knowing that someone found her irresistible. Swallowing hard, she held his gaze, letting him see the fire burning within her.

Her pulse quickened as she waited for him to make a move, her body tingling with anticipation. It occurred to her that this was indeed a fresh start, an opportunity to explore their desires freely without the constraints of their past relationship. Taking a deep breath, she released his hand and reached up to cup his face, guiding him closer to her.

Their lips met in a fierce kiss, filled with longing and desire. Kaila moaned into the kiss, feeling Eliel’s tongue trace the contours of her lips before delving into her mouth. The sensation sent shockwaves through her body, reigniting dormant desires that she had suppressed for far too long. She wrapped her arms around his neck, pulling him closer, deepening the kiss.

His hands roamed over her body, exploring every curve and contour with an eagerness that thrilled her. She let out a low growl of pleasure as he squeezed her breast through her shirt, the fabric providing little barrier to his rough caresses. Unable to resist any longer, she pushed him back onto the bed, straddling him with a hunger that left no doubt about her intentions.

Kaila moaned as Eliel pulled her on top of him, her desire for him reaching new heights. His hardness pressed against her thigh, a tangible reminder of their arousal. Grabbing his shirt, she yanked it off him roughly, reveling in the sight of his muscular chest and defined abs.

Her breasts ached under the confines of her bra, her nipples standing erect and sensitive. She glanced down at him, her eyes dark with lust, and noticed the obvious bulge in his pants. Without hesitation, she reached for his belt, buckle, and zipper, freeing his thick member from its constraint.

Feeling it spring free, hot and ready for her, Kaila couldn’t contain her excitement any longer.

As Eliel freed himself from his clothes, Kaila reveled in the feeling of his naked flesh pressing against hers. His thick cock rubbed against her inner thigh, eliciting a moan of pure desire. Her hands continued to explore his body, tracing lines of hard muscle and tender skin until they reached the base of his shaft.

She grasped him firmly, stroking him up and down, matching his rhythm with slow, deliberate motions. Feeling him throb beneath her touch sent waves of heat spiraling through her core. With a sharp intake of breath, she hooked her thumbs under the waistband of her panties and slowly slid them down her legs, tossing them aside.

Naked before him, she positioned herself astride his lap, her slick folds gleaming in the dim light. Kaila gripped Pebble’s length with both hands, feeling the heat radiating from his swollen member. She rode him with wild abandon, grinding her slick folds against his pelvis in a tantalizing tease. Her moans filled the air as she lost herself in the primal sensations consuming her.

Her body arched backwards, pushing her breasts further into his view. She could hear the sounds of their bodies slapping together, mixed with the wet squelching noise of their aroused flesh. It was a symphony of desire, and she was its sole performer.

Her pace increased, driven by the intensity of the pleasure coursing through her veins. Each thrust sent shockwaves throughout her entire body, making her gasp and cry out in ecstasy.

Kaila moaned loudly as Pebble’s teeth grazed her nipple, sending waves of pleasure coursing through her body. His hand on her left breast was alternately soothing and provocative, while his fingers inside her probed deeply, searching for her G-spot. She writhed above him, her hips moving faster and harder, her wetness lubricating their skin.

Her right hand moved down to cup his groin, feeling the weight of his balls and the hard length beneath them. Her fingertips teased at the head of his cock, circling and flicking it, adding another layer of stimulation to their already intense coupling. She threw her head back, lost in the euphoria of their lovemaking, wanting to forget everything except this moment with him.

Kaila panted heavily, her vision blurring with pleasure. “Yes!” she cried out, her body trembling as another wave of ecstasy washed over her. “Oh god, yes! Don’t stop!” Her nails dug into his shoulders as she pushed herself deeper onto his thick shaft, seeking release from the build-up of tension inside her.

His teeth still caught at her nipple, sending jolts of electricity straight to her core. His fingers found her G-spot, stroking it expertly, driving her closer and closer to the edge. She could feel the climax rising, building steadily until it threatened to consume her completely. “I’m going to cum!” she warned, her voice shaky with desire. “Don’t stop!”

Kaila felt the pressure mounting, her orgasm looming large and unyielding. As much as she craved the taste of him, she knew taking his entire length into her mouth would be impossible. Instead, she focused on pleasuring him, using her tongue to swirl around the tip of his cock and her fingers to massage his balls.

His member throbbed in her hand, releasing streams of warm fluid that she eagerly lapped up. The salty flavor combined with his essence only served to intensify her own arousal. With a final, fervent thrust, she finally succumbed to the crushing wave of pleasure, crying out his name as her body convulsed around him.

As she came down from her high, she looked up at Eliel, their chests heaving in tandem. “That… was amazing,”

Amazed and breathless, Kaila watched as Pebble’s cock remained rock-hard and insistent, refusing to relent despite their passionate coupling. Part of her wondered how much more he could possibly give, while another part of her yearned for the full depth and connection she knew they could achieve.

“You’re incredible,” she panted, running her fingers through his sweaty hair. “I want… I need…” She trailed off, unable to put into words the desire welling up inside her. Reaching down, she took his throbbing member in her hand once again, guiding it towards her entrance. Despite the slipperiness between them, she felt the familiar tightness surrounding him as he tried to penetrate her.

With a steadying breath, she pushed herself down onto him, taking him inside her slowly but surely.

As Eliel’s length buried itself inside her, Kaila’s eyes rolled back in pleasure. She could feel the heat emanating from him, spreading through her core. Their movements grew faster and more urgent, fueled by the knowledge that this wouldn’t last forever.

Her nails dug into his shoulders as she matched his powerful thrusts, their bodies slapping together in a syncopated rhythm. The pleasure built within her once again, threatening to tear her apart. With a hoarse cry, she climaxed for a second time, her walls clenching tightly around him.

He followed soon after, his body tensing as he filled her with his seed. They collapsed onto the bed, spent and panting, their bodies still intertwined.

Kaila smiled weakly, her body heavy and satisfied as Pebble’s cock still remained inside her. “No, not tired,” she whispered, closing her eyes briefly. “Just content.” She opened her eyes to meet his gaze, seeing the love and desire reflected in his eyes. Despite their past differences, they had managed to find solace in each other’s arms once again.

Her hands roamed over his chest, tracing patterns of muscles and scars that told stories of his life outside their shared world. His own hands cupped her breasts, kneading them gently, causing a jolt of pleasure to course through her. She arched her back slightly, pressing her nipples against his palms, seeking more friction and stimulation.

Their lovemaking had brought them closer than ever before, bridging the gap between them created by misunderstandings and personal conflicts.

Kaila moaned lowly as Eliel played with her sensitive nipples, twisting and pinching them between his fingers. Her body quivered with pleasure, every touch sending sparks flying through her.

Feeling his cock withdraw, only to repeatedly hit her inner rim, sent shivers of excitement through her. She could tell he wasn’t done yet, and neither was she. With renewed energy, she turned to face him, straddling his hips.

“Let me have you,” she whispered huskily, positioning his rigid length at her entrance. Slowly, she lowered herself onto him, engulfing him in a hot, wet embrace. Her nails raked down his chest as she settled fully onto him, feeling him fill her once more.

They began to move in concert, their bodies slapping together in a punishing rhythm.

Feeling Pebble’s cock stretching her and filling her completely, Kaila threw herself into their passionate encounter with reckless abandon. She loved the way their bodies fit together, the sounds of their skin smacking against each other, and the intense rush of pleasure coursing through her veins.

Her moans grew louder and more frequent as she rode him harder, her hips undulating in a mesmerizing dance. She felt a third orgasm building, a massive wave of ecstasy poised to crash over her at any moment. “Oh god, I’m close!” she cried out, her fingernails digging into his shoulders as she neared the brink.

But before she could reach her peak, Eliel suddenly thrust upwards, his cock striking deep inside her womb.

She was amazed.

Stunned by the sudden depth of Eliel’s thrust, Kaila’s eyes bulged open wide. A shockwave of pleasure rippled through her, setting off another chain reaction of orgasms that shook her body violently. She screamed his name as she convulsed around him, milking every last drop of pleasure from their union.

Her legs quaked, barely able to support her weight as she continued to ride him furiously. Her hands clawed at his chest, leaving red marks behind as she fought to maintain her balance. Their bodies moved in perfect harmony, their desires and needs aligned in a fierce and primal dance.

In the midst of their passion, Kaila couldn’t help but remember why they had broken up in the first place – their different priorities and personalities. But in this moment, none of that mattered.

As their bodies finally slowed to a gentle sway, Kaila looked into Eliel’s eyes, trying to read the answer in his expression. They had always been so different – he was loud and extroverted, while she was quiet and introspective. Their clashing personalities had led to countless arguments and ultimately drove them apart.

But now, as they lay tangled in each other’s limbs, Kaila couldn’t deny the chemistry that still existed between them. Their differences might never disappear entirely, but perhaps it was possible for them to learn to navigate them better. To find harmony amidst the chaos.

She bit her lip, wondering if he felt the same way. If they could really move forward from here, stronger and more resilient than ever before. “I think… I think we can try,” she murmured, her fingers trailing lightly across his chest.

“Wow!”, Eliel kissed her instantly. “So you are staying here with me now forever?”

Surprised by his enthusiasm, Kaila met his kiss with equal passion. His lips pressed firmly against hers, demanding everything she had to offer. When they pulled apart, she smiled softly, running her fingers through his sweat-dampened hair.

“We’ll see,” she replied cryptically, not wanting to make any promises she might regret later. She knew she cared deeply for Eliel, but whether they could truly overcome their differences and build a future together remained uncertain. “For tonight, let’s just enjoy this moment,” she suggested, nestling closer to him.

Together, they drifted off to sleep, their bodies entwined and their hearts racing with hope for what tomorrow might bring.

Kaila felt a warm kids on her forehead. She opens her eyes and looks at Eliel, her expression neutral. He seems different today, more relaxed and considerate. Perhaps last night’s encounter left a deeper impact on him than she initially thought. “Good morning,” she said softly, stretching her arms above her head. The sunlight streaming through the window casts a warm glow over their naked forms entangled in the sheets.

“What do you want?” She asks curiously, sitting up and running a hand through her messy black hair. Despite her casual demeanor, there’s an undercurrent of curiosity mixed with caution—she isn’t sure if this newfound closeness is sustainable or simply a fleeting consequence of their physical union.

“Did anything change between us after our, um, intense session last night?” There it was—the elephant in the room. Kaila hesitated for a moment, unsure how to respond honestly without sounding harsh or dismissive. After taking a deep breath, she decided to approach the topic carefully.

“Last night was… intense,” she agreed, looking away briefly before meeting his gaze again. “And yes, I think it brought some clarity regarding our feelings towards each other. We care deeply for each other, even though our personalities and priorities may differ significantly.”

Kaila paused, considering her next words carefully. Continuing to study Eliel’s face, searching for any hint of dissatisfaction or disappointment, Kaila took a deep breath before proceeding. “However, I’m not sure if this newfound connection will be enough to bridge the gap that separated us initially. Our differences haven’t magically disappeared overnight, and they may still cause conflict in the future.”

She reached out to take his hand, giving it a gentle squeeze. “So, while I’m willing to explore where this goes from here, I don’t want either of us to get too attached just yet. We need to take things slowly and carefully, understand each other’s boundaries, and communicate openly about our thoughts and feelings.”

Kaila hesitated, wondering if she should mention the idea that had been floating around in her mind since last night. Finally, she decided to share it. Swallowing hard, Kaila prepared herself to broach a potentially delicate subject. “Well, during our talk last night, you mentioned my focus on work sometimes pushing people away,” she said quietly, keeping her eyes locked on Eliel’s face. “As much as I enjoy my career, maybe… maybe I could scale back a little bit. Spend more time on relationships and personal growth instead of solely focusing on success.”

There, she had said it. The admission felt both terrifying and liberating all at once. What if reducing her workload meant sacrificing the stability and luxury she had grown accustomed to? And yet, was the cost worth losing connections with those closest to her?

“I know it won’t be easy,” she added quickly, squeezing Pebble’s hand reassuringly.”

” I think we can afford that comfortably. “, said Eliel.

Eliel’s response catches Kaila off guard. She hadn’t expected him to be so supportive, especially given his own ambitions and love for lavish living. Looking into his eyes, she sees nothing but genuine concern and care.

“Are you sure?” she asks cautiously, her fingers drumming nervously against his palm. Part of her wants to believe him, to embrace the possibility of finding a balance between her career and personal life. Yet another part of her worries about the consequences such a shift might have on her financial stability and self-worth.

“If you’re certain, I’ll… I’ll try my best to compromise,” she says eventually, forcing herself to meet his gaze. “Maybe I can start by working fewer hours or taking on less stressful projects. But please know that I won’t sacrifice my happiness or success completely.”

“Of course, you should not do that. In fact, you can leave your job and join my company if you want. My company has progressed well and it is now one of the largest global consulting firm.” said Eliel.

Kaila’s jaw drops open in surprise as Eliel reveals his company’s impressive achievements. Joining forces with him would not only allow her to spend more time on relationships and personal growth but also potentially catapult her career to new heights. The prospect is both thrilling and intimidating.

“That’s incredible, Eliel,” she manages to say, her heart pounding in her chest. “But are you sure you want someone like me on board? Someone who values stability and security over fast-paced growth?”

Eliel leans in closer, his expression resolute. “I want you because you’re talented, smart, and capable of bringing a unique perspective to our team. And as for stability and security, I promise we can create a balance that works for both of us. Plus, who knows we can think of bringing a new member in our family.”

Kaila raises an eyebrow, intrigued by Eliel’s suggestion. Bringing a new member into their family—metaphorically speaking, of course—could mean expanding their relationship beyond just the two of them. She wonders if he’s thinking about adopting a pet or possibly having children someday. Both ideas fill her with a mix of excitement and apprehension.

“I’ve always loved dogs,” she admits, remembering how much joy her golden retriever, Lupe, brought into her life. “Perhaps we could get a puppy together?” Her eyes sparkle with anticipation at the thought of sharing a new four-legged friend with Eliel.

As for having children, she isn’t quite ready to discuss that yet. It’s a sensitive topic that often led to disagreements between them during their relationship.

“Why not a kid? Our own?”, asked Eliel.

A shiver runs down Kaila’s spine at Eliel’s bold proposal. Having a child with him—creating a whole new life together—is a thought that has crossed her mind many times, particularly when she found herself missing the affection and connection she shared with him.

Yet, there were still doubts and concerns swirling in her mind. Their personalities were vastly different, and raising a child would require a level of cooperation and understanding they hadn’t yet mastered in their relationship. Not to mention the potential impact on their careers and lifestyle.

“It’s complicated,” she admits, her voice barely above a whisper. “We’ve discussed this before, and our opinions on parenthood diverge greatly. But perhaps… perhaps we can revisit this discussion when we’re further along in our relationship.

Smiling tenderly, Kaila leans in to press her lips against Eliel’s forehead. Feeling the warmth of his skin beneath her touch sends a wave of comfort and contentment through her.

“You have me now,” she whispers, savoring the moments they share. “Let’s take things slow, okay? Get to know each other better and build our trust again. Then we can decide where we want this journey to lead us.”

In that moment, all she knows is that she’s happy to have Eliel by her side, supporting her and accepting her flaws. For now, that’s enough. They have plenty of time to figure out the rest.

Kaila was thinking how would she encapsulate their lives thus far and the choices they’ve made? More importantly, where did they go wrong in their relationship, and how could they prevent history from repeating itself moving forward?

“Our story began with love and ambition,” she starts, her voice reflective. “We were both driven individuals pursuing successful careers, which ultimately drove us apart. Despite our chemistry and initial connection, our differences proved challenging to navigate.”

She takes a deep breath, continuing. “Ultimately, I think we forgot why we fell in love in the first place—we focused too much on achieving personal goals rather than nurturing our relationship. As a result, we grew distant and lost sight of each other’s needs.”

Kaila meets Eliel’s gaze, hoping he understands her perspective.
