Discounted Love, Discounted Dreams, Discounted Memories – 3 Sonnets #Poetry #discount

I. Discounted Love

Discounted love, a term so often heard,
A sale of heart, a price so easily cut,
A commodity that’s traded, bought and blurred,
Its value fading, like a morning’s hut.

But true love is not something to be sold,
For it’s a feeling that cannot be priced,
It’s more than a deal, it’s a story untold,
A bond that’s priceless, and cannot be diced.

Discounted love may offer temporary thrills,
But it’s like a firework, it fades away,
True love, however, endures time’s bills,
A flame that burns brighter, each passing day.

So let us not settle for love that’s discounted,
But seek the kind that’s pure, and forever anointed.

II. Discounted Dreams

Discounted dreams, a notion often seen,
A sale of hope, a future put on hold,
A sacrifice made, to chase routine,
Its value fading, like stories untold.

But dreams are not something to be sold,
For they’re the visions that keep us alive,
They give us purpose, and make us bold,
A path to follow, as we strive.

Discounted dreams may bring temporary peace,
But they’re like sandcastles, they wash away,
True dreams, however, will never cease,
They endure, and guide us, each passing day.

So let us not settle for dreams that are discounted,
But chase the ones that fill our hearts, and make us anointed.

III. Discounted Memories

Discounted memories, a term so misplaced,
A sale of moments, a time so easily lost,
A forgotten tale, a story erased,
Its value fading, like frost.

But memories are not something to be sold,
For they’re the treasures that we hold inside,
They shape our past, and make us bold,
A part of us, that can never hide.

Discounted memories may bring temporary joy,
But they’re like mirages, they fade away,
True memories, however, will never cloy,
They endure, and warm us, each passing day.

So let us not settle for memories that are discounted,
But cherish the ones that make us smile, and leave us anointed.
