Attaining a goal after years of hard work in a professional career in the technology field is a significant accomplishment. It takes dedication, persistence, and a strong passion for the field to achieve long-term success. In my career in technology, I set not one but two goals. My first goal at the beginning of my career was to become a lead software engineer and I am proud to say that I achieved this goal after many years of hard work. In this article, I will share my journey and the steps I took to attain both my goals.
First goal journey
Education and Skill Development: My journey to becoming a lead software engineer started with obtaining a degree in computer science. This provided me with a solid foundation in the field and allowed me to develop a deep understanding of programming languages, mainframes, software development methodologies, and computer systems. I then continued to invest in my education by taking courses and attending workshops to enhance my skills and stay up-to-date with the latest technological advancements.

Gaining hands-on experience: Once I had a strong foundation in the field, I started looking for opportunities to gain hands-on experience in software development. I took on freelance projects and worked on open-source projects, which allowed me to apply the theories and concepts I learned in my education to real-world scenarios. This experience helped me to develop a strong portfolio, which later helped me to secure a job as a software engineer.
Networking and Building Relationships: Networking and building relationships in the technology industry is crucial for long-term success. I made an effort to attend industry events, join professional organizations, and connect with other professionals in the field. This allowed me to gain exposure to new ideas and technologies, learn from experienced professionals, and make valuable connections that would later help me in my career.
Taking on Leadership Roles: As I gained more experience, I started taking on leadership roles within my company. I led projects, mentored junior developers, and was involved in decision-making processes. This experience allowed me to develop my leadership skills, build a strong reputation within my company, and demonstrate my ability to take on more responsibility.
Continuously Learning and Adapting: The technology industry is constantly evolving, and it is essential to stay current with the latest advancements. I made a commitment to continuously learning and adapting to new technologies, methodologies, and processes. This allowed me to bring new ideas and approaches to my work, which made me a valuable asset to my company.
In conclusion, attaining my first goal of becoming a lead software engineer took years of hard work and dedication. It required me to invest in my education and skills, gain hands-on experience, network and build relationships, take on leadership roles, and continuously learn and adapt. However, the satisfaction of achieving this goal and the opportunities it has opened up for me make it all worth it. I am grateful for the experiences and lessons I had gained along the way and now was eager to continue towards my second goal.
After years of hard work and growth in my professional career as a lead software engineer, I set a new goal for myself: to become the owner of a global technology company. This was a bold and ambitious goal, but I was determined to make it a reality. Here’s how I achieved it:
Entrepreneurial Mindset: I knew that starting a successful technology company would require a strong entrepreneurial mindset. I started reading books, attending workshops, and seeking mentorship from successful entrepreneurs to develop my entrepreneurial skills and learn from their experiences. This helped me to develop a clear vision for my company and a solid understanding of the key elements required for success.
Identifying a Niche: One of the critical steps in starting a successful technology company is to identify a niche in the market. I spent months researching various areas of technology and identifying opportunities where I could bring unique value to the market. I eventually found a gap in the market for a software solution that would streamline business processes and improve efficiency.
Building a Team: Once I had identified a niche in the market, I started building a team of talented and passionate professionals to help bring my vision to life. I hand-picked a group of software engineers, designers, and business professionals who shared my vision and passion for the project. Together, we worked tirelessly to develop a cutting-edge software solution that would meet the needs of businesses around the world.
Securing Funding: Starting a technology company requires significant financial resources, and I knew that securing funding would be a critical step in making my vision a reality. I reached out to potential investors, including venture capital firms, angel investors, and crowdfunding platforms, and presented my business plan and financial projections. Through these efforts, I was able to secure the funding I needed to launch my company.
Launch and Growth: After months of hard work and preparation, I launched my technology company, and it quickly gained traction in the market. Our software solution received positive feedback from customers, and our company grew rapidly. Within a few years, we had expanded globally, serving businesses in multiple countries around the world.
In conclusion, my journey to becoming the owner of a global technology company was a long and challenging one, but it was also one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. Through hard work, dedication, and a commitment to my vision, I was able to turn my entrepreneurial dream into a reality. Today, I am proud to be the owner of a successful and thriving technology company, and I am grateful for the opportunities it has provided me to make a positive impact on the world.
