What do you wish you could do more every day?
Do you ever find telling yourself, “I wish I could do this more every day?” Something you are passionate about? Something that fills you with happiness? Something that ignites your spirit? Well, my friend, you’re not alone! In fact, I think I’ve found the answer to all of our problems: we need more laughter in our lives!
Laughter is the best medicine, and it’s no secret that it can do wonders for our mental and physical health. Studies have shown that laughing can lower stress hormones, boost our immune system, and even improve our memory. So, I keep asking myself why don’t I do it more often?
The truth is, life can be tough. We get caught up in the daily grind, and sometimes we forget to stop and smell the roses (or in this case, stop and laugh at the ridiculousness of it all). But fear not, my friends! I’ve compiled a list of things that we should all do more often to bring some much-needed humor and laughter into our lives.

Watch a funny movie or TV show:
There’s nothing like a good comedy to make us forget our troubles and laugh until our sides hurt. Whether it’s an old classic like “The Three Stooges” or a newer show like “Brooklyn Nine-Nine,” there’s a funny movie or TV show out there for everyone. So, put on your comfiest PJs, grab some popcorn, and settle in for a good laugh.
Spend time with companions who bring a smile to your face and laughter to your soul:
We all have that one friend who always knows how to make us laugh, even on our darkest days. Make plans to hang out with them more often! Whether it’s grabbing lunch, going for a walk, or just chatting on the phone, spending time with someone who makes you laugh is sure to brighten your day.
Play a silly game:
Sometimes we take ourselves too seriously. That’s why it’s important to play a silly game every once in a while. Whether it’s a game of “Cards Against Humanity” or a round of “Twister,” playing a game that requires you to let go of your inhibitions and just have fun. This, actually, is a great way to bring some laughter into our life.
Read a funny book or comic:
If you’re a bookworm, why not switch up your reading list and pick up a funny book or comic? From “The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy” to “Calvin and Hobbes,” there are plenty of books and comics out there that are sure to make you laugh out loud.
Try something new:
Sometimes we get stuck in a rut and forget to try new things. But trying something new can be a great way to bring some humor and laughter into our lives. Whether it’s taking a dance class, trying a new hobby, or taking a cooking class, stepping out of our comfort zones and trying something new can be a great way to shake things up and bring some laughter into our lives.
Share funny memes or videos with friends:
Let’s be honest, sometimes we all need a good laugh at work or in the middle of a boring meeting. That’s where funny memes and videos come in! Whether it’s a funny cat video or a meme that perfectly captures your mood, sharing something funny with your friends is sure to brighten their day (and yours!).
Practice gratitude:
Okay, hear me out on this one. While gratitude might not seem like the most obvious way to bring laughter into our lives, it can actually be incredibly powerful. When we focus on the good things in our lives, we’re more likely to feel happy and content. And when we’re happy and content, we’re more likely to find humor and joy in the world around us.
So, take a few minutes every day to practice gratitude. Write down three things you’re grateful for, or simply take a moment to think about them. When we’re feeling grateful, we’re more likely to laugh at the silly things in life and find humor in unexpected places.
Take a break from social media:
Let’s face it, social media can be a bit of a downer sometimes. Seeing other people’s highlight reels can make us feel like we’re not measuring up, and reading about all the world’s problems can be overwhelming. So, why not take a break from social media for a day or two? Instead, spend that time doing something that makes you happy, like going for a walk, reading a book, or spending time with loved ones.
Embrace your inner child:
Kids are experts at finding humor in the everyday. They see the world with fresh eyes and find joy in the little things. So, why not try to embrace your inner child? Dance like nobody’s watching, play with silly putty, or have a pillow fight. Doing something silly and childlike can be a great way to bring laughter into our lives.
Practice self-care:
Finally, it’s important to practice self-care. When we’re stressed or overwhelmed, it can be hard to find humor in anything. Therefore, take some time on a regular basis and take a good care of yourself. Take a bubble bath, get a massage, or simply take a nap. When we’re feeling rested and refreshed, we’re more likely to find joy and humor in the world around us.
In conclusion, laughter truly is the best medicine. It has the power to make us feel better, both physically and mentally. So, let’s all make an effort to bring more laughter into our lives. Whether it’s watching a funny movie or TV show, hanging out with friends who make us laugh, or simply practicing gratitude, there are plenty of things we can do to bring a little more humor and joy into our lives. So, go ahead and laugh until your sides hurt – you deserve it!
